Don’t Come Outside

A blank daily create is like a blank check. There is no limit to what you can achieve and receive. Creativity is the center of everything in life. Some might say money is. I think they go side by side as things that make this world go ’round.

Left Blank

Early last century, I was living in the City of Light, Paris (the one in France). Trying to be a hipster living by the River Seine with all the artists, writers, and hippies. But I made a typographical mistake! I finally found the “Left Blank” of the river, a nice little brasserie with a room with a view available for a few francs. Unfortunately, I didn’t meet my fellow starving artists there. In fact, it was more like the Blank Hole of Calcutta; what went in was not seen again.

I managed to make my escape by discovering a secret passageway in the subcellar, under the river to the Right Bank. Good thing it was a bank, because I could bring nothing with me.

Ah, those were the days, mon ami! I finally met Hemingway, Joyce, and Stein. They sponsored me for a couple of years study at la Sorbonne, where my paper on Interspecies Storytelling: Digital or Analog? was well received. Then onward to other travels and other times.

Never Left Blank again!

I used to make this is aim chat. Don't know why this assignment gave me the inspiration to do this, but here it is.

Intentionally blank… or not

If you say nothing, does it mean that you have nothing to say? I say no. Sometimes to stand quietly shows restraint. To say nothing, could mean that you don’t care enough to say something. To say nothing, could be a sad way of ignoring the hurt that is caused by someone else. To say nothing to some, shows respect that you have for another that you remain silent when asked. If not silent, in some circumstances, one could lose their life. If the sheet of paper is left blank, does that mean you are silent? No. You can be silent, the paper blank, and have so much to say…

Between the recto and the verso, lies the intention

Where is the intentionality in blank pages? Are they intentionally left blank; or, are they left intentionally blank? Is blank a choice that was made ( for good reasons, no doubt), or is blank a state of being the paper had since its creation?

As my grammar used to say, “Word order is everything!”

What do you mean blank pages?

Can they be red or blue or do they have shapes like rectangular or round? I may see something on them no one else do! Written, drawn, shoot, moving. Maybe some truth has been kept back like someone asked me yesterday: “Why did this doctor die in Lodge 1950 when he was born in Germany before 1930?” This lexicon article is about his life and written rather recently. Why can’t you read why he had to got to Lodge to die? What do you want to read about me on the blank pages I gave to you? What on the heart shaped once, what on the one which is shaped like a grave cross?

Does the blank really exist?
A space where there is nothing, a total void?

Maybe it’s there (or rather not there) in an atom?
Who knows how to call what’s between the core of an atom and the circulating electrons?
Is there a void between the quarks that make up a proton?

Or is a blank / a void / a total emptiness just something we made up?

underneath the canvas …

nothing remains
blank
for long ….
someone always comes along
with spray paint
or chalk
or some idea that transforms the canvas
into something that it wasn’t a mere second ago
but now is,
and here I am,
doing it,
in the sharp seconds before I have to skedaddle from the cops
whose view of the world
is in conflict with my own.
I’m off ….
