    Haiku is the simple but elegant form of poetry, 3 lines with the number of syllables in each specified as 5-7-5. To go the distance, include the elements of “cutting” (kiru) “often represented by the juxtaposition of two images or ideas and a kireji (“cutting word”)” as well as “kigo” or a seasonal reference.
