Sounds

Sounds accompanied by a beat.
Mixed together creating a song.
These sounds make us feel.
We feel love. A growing air within us.
We feel pain. Tears glide down our cheeks.
We feel the happiness. Dancing to these beats.
Sounds to different melodies making us feel heat.
Dancing, bouncing, twirling.
Singing, smiling, crying.
All of these feelings made, just by different, sounds.

Going Up

Music, you don’t just listen, you feel it. The melody does not move you it grove’s you. I think inspiration of a beat can knock you right off your seat. The notes have feelings too, that’s why it makes you float on a boat. Listen up, close your eyes, open your heart, and let the songs take you back to a place that picks you up if your feeling down. Music can do that.

The Beat vs. The Artist

Music is pain, Music is struggle

Music is a competition, artists like athletes, their

bodies their rendition. Music is a story, about a

man and his song. Will he spread his story or wait

too long? Only he can decide, music and the body

move smoothly in stride. Do you make the beat

or does the beat make you? Real artists are

competitors, no matter who’s their competitor,

they make the beat better, so clever how they

place words carefully together. Always remember

you ARE the beat and the song, a competition

between you and yourself, once you know that

nothing can go wrong.

We Will, We Will, ROCK YOU!!!

We were down eight points and very behind,

Our team was exhausted, and also whined,

All hope was lost, we didn’t know what to do,

Then some blasted the song, “We will Rock You”

We had spirit, we had hope in our hearts,

We played hard, despite our faults,

The crowd cheered rooting us on,

And in the end, We Won!

My Muse is not Tangible

My muse is not tangible,

Nor is it seen.

It is the slight flutter of your heart

When a beat drums against your soul.

It is the slow head roll you experience

When smooth beats encase you in tranquility.

It is the final push up you manage to do

When a sick drop resonates throughout your bones.

It is the invisible comfort you need

When a sad melody drapes over your shoulders.

My muse is not tangible,

Nor is it seen.

It is felt.

my heart drums
and sings in tune with some of the most beautiful melodies ever to be made,
and my fingers dance along
to the beat so meticulously created
for consumption.
does the heart become full after such a lovely experience
and the sound of it all, makes the world easier to deal with.
it soothes the soul
and gives me reason to continue to live

Music is the Sound Track

Do you remember where you were
When that song became “our song?”
Was it your first kiss
Or was it the first dance?
Do you remember?

Do you remember where you were
When that song touched your heart?
Were you watching the Stars and Stripes boldly wave,
Standing with your hand over your heart?
Do you remember?

Do you remember where you were
When that song meant you were young and free?
Were you cruising Main Street
In your muscle car with a new driver’s license?
Do you remember?

Do you remember where you were
And what you were doing
When music touched the moments of your life
And caused you to remember them forever?

Music is the sound track of our lives.

I’m a huge gross nerd
14 years old
Freshman in high school
Yuck

Bye Bye Birdie on the scene
My first costume plot
Sewing and shit
That’s fun

Three years later
Spamalot
400 costumes in 2 months
Won a Cappie award, NBD

Also met The Bae
Three years so far
Things are going pretty well
He put a ring on it

That’s how music(als) bend the rules

All about that Bass

The bass gives you a feel deep down in your chest,
A sound that won’t stop and give you any rest.
There is a consistency of the beat
within the stomping of stranger’s feet.
Singing along to the words of every song,
giving you an intense feeling in your chest that is ever so strong.
Music is emotional written methodically,
forever influencing the world hypnotically.

Minding Music

Contemplating.
Complicating.

Procrastinating, yet magic making
Love quaking through heart breaking

Satisfaction brought back to action
A life of meaning but without a caption

Solving my chains of misery
Music has made… my history.

Room Guitar

The strings on my guitar
sound away in the dark
while the lights from the cars
sweep my bedroom walls

Six windows line the room
to my makeshift studio,
soundproof in the dead of night

A write what I feel, what I might
in the night, with no fright.
I sing what I can into the air
Though it’s impact I haven’t a care.

With me and my room of guitar,
here in my little lair.
I haven’t a care.

A Poem about Music

Music is an escape.

From the cape.

That we must put on every day.

In order to make pay.

We jump really fast.

We run even faster.

So that we can say…

We are black belt masters.

It gets the people GOIN

Whenever life has got you feeling down
And you can’t seem to get out of the rut,
There’s one thing that will erase your frown
And give you a good feeling in your gut.

If you feel like you’re losing a battle with stress
Kid Cudi will strengthen your resolve.
If you’re having trouble finding a date
The Weeknd will help you evolve.

If you’re looking for a pregame pump up
Weezy F Baby is one of a kind.
If you’re looking for a lyrical masterpiece
Slim Shady will blow your mind.

If you just wanna dance
Justin Timberlake will get you movin’
Moral of the story is
That music will always get you groovin’.

Music finds the words when I’ve lost them

I talk a lot
Sometimes too much
But often about nothing at all

I can find words about weather
About classes
About life

But those words that carry weight
Words that convey love or meaning
Those can evade me when I need them most

Music finds those words
And explains things
In ways I never could

Through the sounds of instruments
The flow of a song
And lyrics that speak volumes

When I can’t find my own words
I can always find a song
That knows just what I mean

Double Bass: My Love for Music

The puck from the big one is violent

It sets the tone, like it is the pilot

I feel in charge when I play

We prepared for our spring concert every may

First chair bassist is where I was

And to this day I say it is because

The double bass gave me my love

Who needs a Cartel when
plugging in is The Cure?
If The Vaccines can put me
into a Swell Daze, why
Poison The Young Veins?

I can Walk The Moon or
take The Velvet Underground
to escape the fact that
The Strokes of luck we’ve had
are based on Milky Chance.

We hit an All Time Low when
we care more about The Blow
we left in our parents’ Beach House
than the lives of Black Kids or
the homes of Local Natives.

But why Ra Ra Riot when
Passion Pits you against
The National mindset?
Say Anything, but
don’t say it too loud.

Creating dreams and playing hearts just like a guitar string

Where the music touches,

There can be no evil.

Only pure peace is existed.

Makes me to escape from worry.

Makes me to rest.

Songs for True Friends

Well, it is always nice when True Friends make songs. Because songs are a kind of music, but with words so you can understand why Friends are Important.

Like one time I wrote a song called “Tina Made Groom” after he was trash talking me and I needed to set the record straight.

Or another time, when I wrote a song called “Tina Don’t Like the Mean Word” after that Savvy man Ben kept using the Mean Word even after I was trying to be nice.

Another time, when it was New Years, I made a special version of the New Year’s Song called “Make Art for Your True Friends, My Bub!” that was a really nice thing for me to do.

But then, my True Friend Vivien made a wonderful song, just for me, called “Look What Happened to Tina” that was just such a fantastic piece of music that it almost made me cry. But not really, I am tough.

And then, just when I thought it wouldn’t get any nicer, my True Friends Vivien and that David did another song for me called “GIFfing is Without You” that made me want to sing along all day and play my double-bass. That remix is in the studio now, awaiting some final vocal embellishments.

I could go on an on about how nice it is that music makes you feel. But it is about making vibrations that other peoples can feel, plus when they make vibrations, you feel them too. Plus, at the same time it is even better. Like, LIVE.

So music is a kind of Art, and that is what we like to make. So Make some Art, bub.

And Make Some Music Art, Bub, too!

The Effects of Music

You asked today how music changed me,
This is easy to answer you see.
I have loved music since I was very young,
I don’t think there is a song I haven’t sung.
I like to listen to every word,
Even the songs that are really absurd.
From “Rock Lobster” to “Cats in the Cradle”,
I’ve even listened to a song about a dreidel.
Give me music, over TV and reading,
I love to listen to it when I’m in the garden seeding.
Music is what makes me happy,
Now I’m done getting sappy.

Filling the Void

From cacophonic discontent,

To a restful respite,

Brilliant thoughts composers meant,

To that Pop tune, that trending “it”,

Music captures ineffable content,

And bridges minds of the voiceless.

Hard to describe, but
Soft-en-ing blows,

Music makes all the difference.

Music gives me smiles
Unwinds my mind
Singing along passes miles
It gets me out of a bind
Curbs the stress
And lets me rest!

connecting me to you
