Bikers Beware of Wild Parsnip

Bikers, beware!
Yellow flowers along a trail — look; do not touch.
The wild parsnip, evil sister of Queen Anne’s Lace, has arrived.

The invasive wild parsnip is spreading America, like wildfire!
The plant has a dangerous oil!
The fluids can be harmful to health!

Skin, plant juices, and sunlight make a fiery mix!
The chemical reaction results as burns and blisters.
This is phytophotodermatitis. Ouch!

The blueness of rush hour

Aug. 1, Carla Cheney, sitting in her own clothes,
in a scientific paper posted online,
reported a star just outside the Wal-Mart in Kemptville, Ont.

Lloyd, who was leaving Duluth Avenue in a parked truck,
Spotted police monitoring a gas giant after riding through a red light.
The Hubble Info Centre hadn’t started working and received a $40 ticket.

63 light years away orbits his dog
and an international group of scientists, peer-reviewed.
Cyclists detected the blueness of rush hour that morning.

The new rules were delayed.
Just days later, a fire broke out

That, at any rate,
is the position of the suitably sci-fi so

Now
the Texas-based think tank is the latest target of WikiLe

A startling new report emerged.
Lauren Fagen, 18, was volunteering
near the shores of the Arctic Ocean

The juvenile mammoth was found
with photogs yesterday
volunteering at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

The usually chill gentle giant turned hostile.
She leaned in to kiss the beast’s fur
and shows signs of being cut open.

In My Mind I’m Leavin’ Carolina

North Carolina, my “forever home”
state government has become a demolition derby
tearing down years of progress in public education, tax policy, racial equality

removes the tax deduction for dependents that register to vote at an address other than their parents’ home
some of the highest unemployment in the country
recent news of abortion measures and cuts to public education

awash with criticism this summer
bills that appear to run against the progressive streak
I’m not sure it’s where I want to build a life.

El Segundo, the workhorse rocket,
was the fourth Proton anomaly.
Adequately justify such a mission.

Recent close encounters with failure,
when strike comes to the Cosmodrome,
adequately justify such a mission.

Stark reminders to continue progress,
the latest mission proposal is to
adequately justify such a mission.

Like Love, Sometimes

Blue-green algae alert!
Numbness, tingling, dizziness
(like love) can impede breathing,

cause heart problems. “I even see
expanding, finding more
niches next year.” But black kab

Axel, loved by Jerry, “He swam
in the river while I fished. He
was fine. Everything was good.”

(And then it wasn’t.)
(Like love, sometimes.)
