Why are MOOC’s so frowned upon by so many? I think they offer a great way for people (not just students) to continue to learn and expand their knowledge base. There is no reason why “education” needs to be limited to a classroom. In fact, many universities now require experiential learning (internships, student research, ect.). I think MOOC’s offer this same kind of continued and different learning experience. Additionally, this form of education weeds out those that don’t really want to be there and are only there because daddy made them. If you don’t want to participate, you simply dont tune in.
